Self-builders could consider wall-to-wall carpets March 5, 2010
Self-builders who are unsure what interior design style to go for inside their new home have been given a number of tips by Adrienne Chinn.
According to the chief interior designer and director of Adrienne Chinn Design Company, wall-to-wall carpets have become extremely popular among renovators in recent times.
She explained that this trend has not been seen for around 15 years and its resurrection could well be down to the fact that, unlike before, people no longer have to simply buy a carpet that is already in the shop.
"A lot of private companies now offer a computerised service and if you want to create something a bit more unique you can do that with them. You can also choose colours that you want," she said.
For those struggling to imagine how a particular piece of furniture may look in their house, a new iPhone app may help.
Dassault Systemes and mydeco.com have recently launched the Furnish Your Photo program, which allows users to choose from hundreds of models of furniture to add to a photograph of their room, helping them to visualise what they would look like together.
